Learning how to enhance quality of life with Donovan Rypkema of PlaceEconomics

Information in this post is regarding an upcoming presentation by Donovan Rypkema of PlaceEconomics, one of the nation’s leading experts on economic development through the use of historic preservation.  This special presentation is made possible by funding through the Alabama Historical Commission, the City of Decatur, Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce and the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area.  The One Decatur Comprehensive Plan makes a number of references to using historic preservation to enhance our quality of life and economic viability of the city through residential, our downtowns, our museums and other cultural applications.  We have a treasure trove of history in Decatur.  Let’s learn how to tap it to enhance quality of life as well as the finances of our city and its residents!    David Breland, Director of Historic Resources and Events of the City of Decatur, AL
