THE MORGAN COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY’S 2019 ANNUAL MEETING—A CELEBRATION OF THE STATE’S BICENTENNIAL,

FEBRUARY 12, 2019 AT MORGAN COUNTY ARCHIVES, 624 BANK STREET, DECATUR, AL 35601

This is a great opportunity to hear and to interact with Senator Arthur Orr, Chairman of the Alabama Bicentennial Commission and Steve Murray, Director of the Alabama Department of Archives and History (Montgomery) and a Board Member of the Alabama Bicentennial Commission.  Bring your own lunch at 11:30 am.  Program begins at noon.  FREE to the entire public (both members and non-members of the MCHS).  Additional special guests include Donna and Ramsey Huffman, recipients of this year’s Shirley Hammond award for excellence in history in our county.  The Huffmans have led and continue to lead First Presbyterian Church of Decatur in a five part program of service celebrating Alabama 200.  This massive project has been undertaken by the entire congregation of FPC of Decatur and encompasses a complete study of the history of their congregation as well as the Presbyterian Church throughout Alabama plus much more!
